Counselling and Pyschotherapy in Southport and Online

Welcome to

The Counselling Collective

Empowering you to heal, grow, and thrive.

Welcome

My name is Gemma and I provide counselling and psychotherapy face-to-face in Southport and Nationwide via video calling or telephone.

Person Centred Therapist, Therapeutic Play Practitioner, Creative Counsellor and CBT Therapist, I offer a compassionate, holistic approach to therapy that is tailored to the unique needs of each client. I work with children, young people and adults of all ages, providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you or your child can explore and process your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Whether working with children or adults, my goal is to help clients develop resilience, improve their emotional well-being, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. By using a range of therapeutic modalities, I aim to provide a flexible and effective approach that supports each client's unique journey toward healing and growth.

I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, who come to me with with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

CBT

Through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, offering practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties. CBT equips clients with strategies to make positive changes in their thinking and behaviour, leading to lasting improvements in mental health and well-being.

Play Therapy

For children, I integrate therapeutic play and creative counselling techniques to help them express themselves and process their feelings and experiences in a developmentally appropriate way. Using play, art, and other creative methods, children can safely explore their emotions, build coping skills, and gain a sense of agency over their lives.

Person-Centred Therapy

In person-centred therapy, I focus on creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard and valued, helping them gain insight into their emotions and behaviours. This approach is grounded in empathy and unconditional positive regard, fostering personal growth and self-acceptance.
